If you're planning a busy Thanksgiving this year — whether you're hosting the feast or going to a potluck — you may wonder which grocery stores will be open in case you need to run out for last-minute ingredients or to handle other kinds of crises. We did the homework so you can focus on perfecting that turkey recipe (or side dishes, we ain't judging). Here are all the grocery stores that will keep their doors open, and which will be closed.

Grocery Stores Closed on Thanksgiving Day

Though some of the big players, including Target and Walmart, used to be open Thanksgiving Day, they have opted to close their doors this year to allow "associates to spend time with their loved ones," Walmart CEO John Furner said during a segment on the NBC morning show “Today.”
