Election Day is fast approaching, and this year's races are shaping up to be some of the most consequential in American history. The coronavirus pandemic has made planning ahead more important than ever, especially for voters who would prefer not to cast their ballots in crowded polling places. The good news is that, in most states, they may not have to. Although the United States still lags other countries when it comes to registration and turnout, voting is more flexible than ever in many places. Read on to get the deadlines and other essential information for your state.

Note: Information is subject to change, especially due to COVID-19. Double-check dates, deadlines, and polling places in your own city and state before you vote.
