Sam Adams' new beer is out of this world — literally.

Space Craft IPA is made with hops that have orbited Earth. Sixty-six pounds of Citra and Mosaic hops went up on Inspiration4, the first all-civilian spaceflight mission by SpaceX, on Sept. 16. The hops traveled more than 300 miles above Earth in a mission that lasted almost three days while also raising money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
When they got back down to Earth, the hops were used to create a hop-forward West Coast-style IPA with tropical notes of grapefruit, guava, and passionfruit all with a backbone of pine- and resin-like hop aromas. Which sounds great and all, but who cares how it tastes because, well, space beer.

Pre-orders for the beer have sold out already, so the best bet for getting your terrestrial hands on it would be to head to one of Samuel Adams' three taproom and brewery locations in Boston and Cincinnati. Barring that, you'll just have to wait for more hops to come down to Earth.
