After an initial slowdown relating to lockdown factors, by the end of May 2020 industry production had begun to surge — RV rentals were up nearly 650% too, The Drive reported — and never slowed down. Big manufacturers and dealers reported huge backlogs amounting to billions of dollars (yes, that's billions with a "b") with drivers taking them off lots as soon as they arrive. Translation: There are a lot of inexperienced RV drivers on the roads. We reached out to experts, who offered a wealth of advice for these novices.
