Restaurants That Serve an Amazing Thanksgiving Dinner

While we might love sharing Thanksgiving dinner with family, sometimes all of that cooking — and cleanup — feels like just too much work. Rather than go to all of that effort, why not head to one of the many restaurants offering special Thanksgiving menus? From incredible buffet deals complete with all of the Thanksgiving favorites to creative prix-fixe dinners, here are some of the country's best restaurants offering amazing holiday meals. Just be sure to make a reservation, as they can sell out — particularly this year as many locations have limited dining options due to COVID-19 restrictions and may only be offering takeout. Galley & Garden
This celebrated restaurant with modern American and French influences offers a Thanksgiving brunch. In the past they've had a three-course price fixe menu has plenty of Southern flourishes for $60 for adults, $15 for a limited child's menu. On the menu were dishes like molasses carrot soup and cornmeal-crusted oysters, roasted turkey and braised beef short ribs, and finish with dessert options that include pie, apple cinnamon bread pudding, and dark-chocolate cake. In 2020, they're still deciding what they want to do, but "it's likely" they'll have a Thanksgiving feast for customers.

Simon & Seafort's Saloon & Grill
Enjoy stunning Alaskan vistas on the waterfront with a Thanksgiving feast at a longtime favorite. Choose the traditional turkey dinner with sides ($32 for adults, $9 for kids) including chicken apple sausage stuffing and mashed potatoes, or mix things up with the roasted prime rib or Alaskan king crab for more. You can eat at the restaurant, but no more than six people are allowed per table to meet current city rules. Feasts can be ordered to go, too. Take home a turkey you can cook yourself with all the sides ($150) or choose a cooked turkey dinner to reheat ($260).

The Apparatus Room
This swanky restaurant in the two-year-old Detroit Foundation Hotel — formerly the Detroit Fire Department's headquarters, built in 1929 — just expanded their post-shutdown schedule to include Mondays-Thursdays, an will be deciding whether they'll have Thanksgiving specials soon. In the past they've had an a la carte breakfast buffet, brunch buffet ($28-$38 per person), and "traditional family style" Thanksgiving dinner ($78 adults; $25 kids), though one thing is for sure even this year — reservations are recommended. 

Hotel Del Coronado
This beautiful, seaside hotel on a peninsula in San Diego bay offers an escape for the holiday, with Thanksgiving dinner offered in the open-air patio of Serea ($125 for adults, $45 for kids 4-10, kids under 3 are free) featuring an expansive feast from Chef Jojo Ruiz. 

Nick & Stef's Steakhouse
One of L.A.'s top steakhouses will serve Thanksgiving dinner entrées and sides. While the price and menu hasn't been solidified yet, it should be similar to last year, when the meal included turkey, chestnut stuffing, potato purée, candied butternut squash, pickled cranberry compote, and turkey gravy for $55 per person. There will also be an option to pre-order a feast to make at home, which will be available for curbside pickup the day before.

Saddle Peak Lodge
Tucked in the hills of Malibu Canyon, this stylishly rustic restaurant has a four-course prix-fixe Thanksgiving feast at a worthwhile splurge ($105 for adults, $65 for kids 12 and under), with highlights including lobster bisque and grilled pheasant salad, and main courses such as roasted turkey or, for those interested in something more exotic, seared elk tenderloin. Dessert options include banana-huckleberry bread pudding and pumpkin pie.

SLO Provisions
This Central Coast restaurant is already known for its rotisserie-roasted meats and family-style dinners, so you know they'll do Thanksgiving right. Order from their a la carte, to-go holiday dinner menu that includes dishes like a sweet potato casserole with maple-pecan crumble, sourdough herb stuffing, classic mac-and-cheese, and a 10-12 pound free-range turkey (half or whole) that's ready to roast. 

Fleming's
This steakhouse and wine bar in the Denver suburb of Englewood is serving a three-course dinner on Thanksgiving that includes a starter (soup or salad), entree choice of mixed herb-roasted turkey breast or petite filet mignon in a peppercorn sauce, and for dessert diners can choose between New York cheesecake or carrot cake. Dinners can also be ordered to-go and delivered to your door.  Cost is $49 per person, and there's also a three-course children's menu for $23. None of that sound good? Saybrook Point Inn
Equidistant between Boston and New York, the Saybrook Point Inn is a waterside venue where the Connecticut River meets Long Island Sound. This year, diners can enjoy a roasted turkey with pan gravy, short rib, or ravioli. The turkey dinner is $69 and comes with stuffing, au gratin potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, green beans, cornbread, cranberry sauce, and gravy.  The dessert sampler includes pumpkin tarts and apple crisp.

Founding Farmers
This farmer-owned favorite with locations in and around the nation's capital offers a sustainable Thanksgiving feast for $40, though there is a 4% pandemic surcharge on all purchases to help laid-off workers and cover PPE expenses. While there are menu variations at each restaurant, look for holiday favorites such as butternut squash soup, roasted turkey, double whipped mashed potatoes, and cornbread stuffing, as well as pumpkin and pecan pies for dessert. There's also a Thansgiving leftover kit for $50.

Yardbird
This hugely popular Southern-inspired restaurant will be open on Thanksgiving, but no word as yet on whether they will be serving a traditional feast. If they follow in last year's footsteps, though, expect an a la carte Thanksgiving feast that includes appetizers, a herb-roasted turkey, and share plates that include a melted leek potato gratin and "mama's biscuit stuffing." Hopefully you'll also get your choice of dessert: pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and a seasonal cobbler. 

Wildfire
This Chicago favorite will serve up a family-style Thanksgiving dinner ($57 for adults, $24 for kids) with the choice of two mains: turkey with mushroom-herb stuffing, cedar-planed salmon, and beef tenderloin options. Mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and other choices are an additional $3 per person, as are pumpkin pie and other desserts. A 4% COVID-19 surcharge is added to the check. 

French Lick Springs Hotel
Escape to this historic hotel in the Hoosier National Forest for a ballroom Thanksgiving feast ($49 for adults, $20 for children 12 and under) for overnight guests of the hotel only. Enjoy turkey, ham, sage dressing, carrot soufflé, mashed potatoes, spinach salad, and, of course, dessert.

Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort
Sanctuary offers two opportunities for a Thanksgiving meal an early bird seating for $105 per person and $125 for the 2 p.m.-8 p.m. seating. Choices include a traditional turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and chestnut stuffing, swordfish, Vegetable Wellington, lamb shank, filet of beef, or butternut squash ravioli. Dessert includes Pumpkin Spice Crème Brulée, but the Butterscotch Cheesecake sounds tempting.

Proof on Main
This nationally acclaimed restaurant is a Thanksgiving destination for local flavor — the ingredients from nearby farms and artisanal producers. The price fixe feast includes herbed turkey or slow-roasted pork prime rib, buttery herb scented potatoes, and "other soulful classics." Dinner is $45 for adults (prime rib is $1 more) and a turkey dinner is $20 for kids. 

Red Fish Grill
Enjoy Cajun flair for Thanksgiving with this French Quarter hotspot's 3-course meal ($48). The menu includes NOLA favorites such as alligator sausage and seafood gumbo, Southern fried turkey, shortrib. Sides include alligator sausage cornbread stuffing and baked mac and cheese.

Creole Queen
Enjoy a unique Thanksgiving celebration aboard this historic paddleboat as it cruises the Mississippi River, complete with a jazz band. The dinner ($89 for adults, $39 for kids 3 to 12) features a buffet with highlights including smoked beef brisket, baked ham, slow-roasted turkey, Creole smothered greens, and candied yams.  

Rec Pier Chop House
This popular restaurant in Charm City specializes in urban Italian cooking using locally-sourced ingredients. On Thanksgiving, it will serve an a la carte menu with items ranging from pasta dishes to filet mignon and a flat iron Wagyu steak ($72). A dinner with honey-brined turkey, polenta stuffing, baby carrots, and cranberry sauce is $28. 

75 Chestnut
This classic and cozy Beacon Hill restaurant serves a three-course Thanksgiving dinner for $75 — make reservations or order meals to-go. Choose a starter such as the harvest pumpkin bisque, entrées such as roast turkey with all the fixings or filet mignon with sides, and be sure to save room for the dessert sampler pumpkin pie (and consider ordering the pumpkin martini). The same menu is available at sister restaurants Hampshire House and 75 On Liberty Wharf.

Zingerman's
This legendary deli is a foodie's dream come true, and the perfect place to stop for those who don't want to cook this year. Order a complete Thanksgiving dinner for four to six people with either a whole butter- and sage-rubbed turkey ($325) or just order the dishes you need. Highlights include mashed potatoes with gravy, sage and celery stuffing, maple sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce. And don't forget a famous Zingerman's pie, such as pumpkin or chocolate chess.

Lela Restaurant
Just south of Minneapolis and near the Mall of America, Lela is located in the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel. The restaurant features a spacious open floor plan that spotlights Lela’s noted wine room. (Lela has earned awards from Wine Spectator magazine.) This year’s Thanksgiving feast includes herb-crusted turkey breast and honey dijon ham. Rosemary garlic prime rib rounds out the offerings at the carving station. Side dishes include sage cornbread stuffing, potato puree, and candied yams, along with an array of pies and mini dessert items. For adults, the buffet costs $39, and it’s $15 for kids 6-12. This year all choices are served at your table, family-style. 

Fogo de Chao
Add a Brazilian flourish with a catered feast. The to-go Thanksgiving dinner package for six people ($145) is fully cooked and ready to reheat and includes roasted turkey, sweet potato casserole, Brazilian sausage and apple stuffing, sautéed asparagus, cranberry relish, pao de queijo, and cocoa fudge brownies.

Weber Grill Restaurant
Give the Weber grill a rest and head to the company's restaurant (they also have several Midwest locations) for an affordably priced Thanksgiving feast ($32 for adults, $11 for kids 10 and under). The three-course menu includes choices such as mixed green or Caesar salad, grill-roasted smoked turkey with grilled sausage stuffing, and grilled asparagus. There's also pumpkin pie — thankfully not grilled.

Montana Club
This Montana chain of lodge-style restaurants will serve Thanksgiving ($19 for adults, $14 for kids and seniors for the turkey dinner, or $30 for the prime rib) with trimmings including signature bacon cheddar stuffing, whipped mashed potatoes, and orange cranberry sauce. For a few dollars more, desserts include pumpkin and pecan pie or pumpkin swirl cheesecake.

New South Kitchen
Head to this local favorite for an exceptional Lowcountry-style Thanksgiving meal to-go or an indoor dining option for $30. Feast on a deep-fried turkey or slow-roasted pork shoulder, sausage and cornbread stuffing, mac and cheese, collards, and more. And don't miss the pumpkin pie bars and other sweets. A complete Thanksgiving to go can be ordered by November 20.

Carmine's
Escape the Strip's glitz and glamour for Thanksgiving dinner at this family-style restaurant. Carmine's serves a traditional turkey dinner that includes sausage and sage stuffing, Brussels sprouts with caramelized onions and applewood smoked bacon, mashed potatoes with giblet gravy, and more. Cost is $295 and you can eat it in Carmine's dining room or take it home. Pick up a whole pie for $25 extra.

Mon Ami Gabi
Put a Parisian twist on the holiday with a prix-fixe Thanksgiving ($50 for adults, $15 for kids) that includes smoked salmon, fairytale pumpkin soup, herb-roasted turkey with haricots verts and garlic-sage cornbread stuffing, and a pecan chocolate tart. A complete Thanksgiving dinner can be pre-ordered and taken home with much the same menu.

SALT Kitchen and Bar
The Wentworth historic hotel is one of the remaining vestiges of the retreats that once graced the New Hampshire coastline, and a stunning destination for Thanksgiving. Consider a three-course prix fixe dinner at Salt Kitchen & Bar in the Grand Dining Room. Both are $65 for adults, $20 for kids.

Bahrs Landing
This seaside destination has been a local favorite for nearly a century, and while it's known for seafood, Thanksgiving dinner is worth a visit. Enjoy a complete turkey dinner for just $32 for adults, $12 for kids under 12, which includes sweet potatoes, and turnips, homemade cranberry sauce, and more. Don't forget pie for dessert, and consider trying the pumpkin or caramel apple martini. You can also order platters to-go for 2, 4, 6, or 8 people.

Bubby's
Bubby's actually opened on Thanksgiving Day back in 1990, and turkey day is such a tradition for the restaurant it is offering a Thanksgiving plate ($40) November 19-25. On the day of Thanksgiving, a prix-fixe turkey dinner ($65 for adults, $40 for kids under 10) serves up buttermilk biscuits, glazed ham or roasted turkey with giblet gravy, and sides that include candied sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes. The legendary pies include apple whiskey crumble, pecan-maple, roasted pumpkin, and sour cherry. Depending on the weather, there might be an option to eat outdoors, and you can get a full meal for four to-go ($200).

Benjamin Prime
There are three Benjamin steakhouses in the New York area, two in the city and one in White Plains, all offering a Thanksgiving dinner featuring pumpkin soup, autumn salad, turkey, stuffing, roasted yams, potatoes au gratin, and pumpkin pie. The price is $74 per person. 

Pier W
Designed to look like a luxury liner cruising Lake Erie, this seafood-focused destination offers views of the Cleveland skyline along with Thanksgiving dinner. While you can order oysters on the half-shell, lobster bisque, or crab cakes, a three-course prix-fixe dinner with turkey and all the fixings comes with cinnamon candied yams, garlic mashed potatoes, sourdough sausage stuffing, and a fall vegetable medley.

Portland Spirit River Cruises
Not surprisingly, celebrating Thanksgiving in the Pacific Northwest can include an outdoorsy experience. Portland Spirit River Cruises offers a buffet cruise that features live music and singing servers. Price for adults is $76 and $38 for kids. If you're not up for a cruise, dinner can be ordered to-go.

Hershey Lodge
Satisfy a sweet tooth and savory yens at the lodge built by the beloved chocolate brand — or get it to-go. For $140 plus tax, a Thanksgiving meal for four people can be ordered for curbside pick-up. The meal includes celery herb stuffing, whipped potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, green beans, a chilled butternut squash and grain salad, rolls, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie for dessert. Dinner will also be served from noon to 9 p.m. in the Fire & Grain restaurant.

Fearing's
Chef Dean Fearing and his crew will be serving a three-course, price-fixe meal on Thanksgiving Day for $125 per person. Try the roasted butternut squash soup with pheasant confit, spiced creme fraiche, and toasted pumpkin seeds. Or for your main course, go traditional with a tangerine-glazed turkey with tortilla dressing, and the usual sides of whipped potatoes, jalapeño-cranberry relish, gravy, and more. Choose from three desserts to cap your meal before rolling home. 

Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant & Grill
Just outside of Knoxville, this charming Smoky Mountain-adjacent restaurant offers a Thanksgiving dinner to-go that delivers big on Southern hospitality ($99). The feast includes a 12-pound roasted turkey, cornbread sausage dressing (aka stuffing), sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, a pumpkin pie, and a gallon of sweet tea.

Grand America Hotel
Reservations are fully booked to eat at the hotel, but it's still possible to order a dinner to-go ($89 for two people, $179 for four). It includes hits such as slow-roasted turkey breast  and the fixings, plus a mesclun green salad, candied sweet potato casserole, country bread stuffing, haricot verts, and Yukon gold potato puree. Add a pie for $25.

Gadsby's Tavern
Enjoy a candlelit Thanksgiving feast at this colonial-era restaurant dating back to 1790 ($56 for adults, half-price for kids 12 and under). The menu features plenty of local and historic flavor, including peanut soup, heirloom turkey and glazed Virginia ham with sage-cornbread stuffing and candied yams. For dessert, there's pecan and pumpkin "pye."

Ye Olde Tavern
The epitome of New England charm, Ye Olde Tavern dates back to 1790 when it was a stop for weary travelers. Today it is recognized for its comfort food-focused menu and cozy atmosphere. Thanksgiving guests can sample some of that cuisine a la carte with dishes such as pumpkin bisque, venison, salmon, and, of course, turkey. Dinner includes cranberry fritters with Vermont maple butter, your choice of Caesar or mixed green salad, and seasonal vegetables.

High Cotton
This charming, classy Charleston restaurant has a Thanksgiving a la carte menu that includes pumpkin bisque and broiled oysters, and a roasted turkey dinner ($40), filet mignon ($42), and more. Additional sides are $8-$9, and a turkey sandwich to-go for the day after is $14.

Café Flora
For those looking for vegetarian (and even vegan and gluten-free) Thanksgiving options, this family-friendly Seattle favorite is a good choice. This year they're offering a dinner to enjoy at home ($85 for two people). Choose between vegan and gluten-free or vegetarian boxes. Dessert isn't included but can be ordered separately.
