In most cases, used clothing is found in consignment shops and secondhand stores at bargain prices. But depending on who wore it, the most highly coveted fashion items can score five-, six-, and even seven-figure bids at auction houses like Christie's, Sotheby's, and the rest. The latest to go on the auction block: gowns worn by the late Betty White (as well as many of her other household items) including a Helen Barbieri gown expected to sell for $600-$800 and one she wore to the 1989 Emmys (expected price: $1,000-$2,000).
