Not long ago, the slow-motion decay of Sears and Kmart would have been unthinkable. But the latter chain is left with only three stores now that another store just shut its doors. Michael Lisicky, a retail historian, has been tracking what he calls the stores' "endless" decline. "I never thought that I would ever be drawn to document the demise of Sears and Kmart," he says.
