It may be the end of an era for one of America’s favorite places to fill up and then some: the buffet. For obvious reasons, buffets have been hard hit by the pandemic, but many of the nation’s most well-known all-you-can-eat joints were already suffering before COVID-19. Sadly, the very last Popeyes buffet where diners could gorge on mounds of the chain's famous fried chicken has permanently closed in Lafayette, Louisiana despite over 4,000 people signing a petition to save it. But that's the least of it: Here's a look at all the once-mighty buffet chains that have recently closed locations or disappeared altogether.
