Working remotely is being embraced like never before. A Gallup poll finds that 62% of employed Americans have worked from home during the COVID-19 crisis, doubling since mid-March, and 3 in 5 workers want to keep doing so even after public health concerns pass. Bosses like it, too. "Nearly 1 in 5 chief financial officers surveyed say they plan to keep at least 20% of their workforce working remotely," says Brie Reynolds of the remote-work search site FlexJobs, which says it has seen a 50% increase in job-seekers compared with a year ago. This global behemoth has received its fair share of bad press lately for unsafe conditions in its warehouses, so perhaps remote work is the way to go with Amazon. The Seattle, Washington, company employs 92,000 people worldwide and is looking for more finance managers; front end engineers; and sourcing recruiters.
