The Best Prime Rib Specials in All 50 States

Cut from the ribs of the cow, prime rib is a roast, not a steak — and it's one of the most popular cuts of beef in America. April 27 is National Prime Rib Day, and every day of the year restaurants across the country serve prime rib as a special (some just for early bird diners). Here are some of the best prime rib nights across the country.

Bon Secour
Every Friday night, the Tin Top Restaurant in Bon Secour offers a 14-ounce prime rib with two sides for $30. The restaurant prides itself on its seafood offerings, too.

Fairbanks
Located in the business district of Fairbanks, Ivory Jacks hosts prime rib night every Friday. The $30 price buys a 14-ounce cut of slow-roasted beef served with au jus. Add deep-fried shrimp or Alaskan king crab legs for an extra charge.

Tucson
Inside Tucson's Casino Del Sol is PY Steakhouse, where prime rib can be enjoyed every Wednesday night. Spend $25 for a 10-ounce cut with horseradish cream and rosemary au jus. The meal also comes with a loaded baked potato, horseradish cream, and a seasonal vegetable. There's a $4 wine special, too.

Fayetteville
Penguin Ed's in Fayetteville has a prime rib special every Saturday at its 

Mission Boulevard branch, and it's different than most — the beef is smoked. The half-pound queen is $19 and the 1-pound king is $28. Both come with Texas toast, a baked potato, and a side salad.

Susanville
It's not fancy, but you'll hardly care when you have Mick's 12 ounces of prime rib in front of you with salad, garlic bread, and choice of potato and a seasonal vegetable for $27. On Fridays, there's a lobster option.

Leadville
In Leadville there are two chances a week for high-end beef at Quincy's. Friday and Saturday prime rib dinners start at $15, with the chance to upgrade to a larger portion for a few bucks more. Dinners include a baked potato, bread, and a salad. Can't make it? Sunday through Thursday is filet mignon night.

Groton
Friday and Saturday nights are a celebration of prime rib at the Spot Cafe in Groton, which claims the largest outside dining patio in Groton, with a summertime patio and a large tent. The special is $27 with a choice of sides.

Bethany Beach
The cafe, founded in 1993 to remind diners of the old beach cottages of yesteryear, has a Thursday night special with either an 8-ounce prime rib for $18 or 12 ounces for $22, both with a choice of two sides.

St. Petersburg
Prime rib Monday was such a hit that Harold Seltzer's added a Thursday night prime rib special. The St. Petersburg restaurant knocks $3 off the price for every size, including the 8-ounce, 1-pound, and massive 2-pound cuts, which start at $17. All dinners come with salad and the diner's choice of a side.

Flowery Branch
Slow-roasted and seasoned prime rib for $19 is the special every Thursday night at Crossroads, and it's also offered as an option at the Flowery Branch restaurant on Monday night. It's served with a garden salad, a side, and horseradish sauce.

Honolulu
While this decidedly casual cafe in Honolulu may lack ambience, the prices can't be beat — and fans say it's the best food in Honolulu. When prime rib lands on the menu, it's usually $17, a rare bargain in an expensive tourism hub.

Boise
A trip to the Westside Drive In in Boise is a journey back to the 1950s. Open since 1957, the drive-in has retro flair and has hosted vintage car shows. Prime rib night is Friday and Saturday, and the $29 meal comes with soup or salad, baked potato, and roll. Just a 9-ounce prime rib and a roll is $23; a double cut is $38.

Joliet
Epic Buffet in Joliet's Hollywood Casino (which has reopened, with the buffet to follow) has a $27 prime rib special every Saturday night. The buffet doesn't stop at the carving table, either — for the price, diners can also enjoy pizza, seafood, pasta, salads, and desserts.

Lafayette
A local favorite, O'Bryan's Nine Irish Brothers in Lafayette has received multiple readers' choice awards for its food. The pub serves slow-cooked prime rib for $24 every Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. The meal comes with mashed potatoes and veggies.

Crescent
The Pink Poodle has a diner feel and prices to match. The prime rib is special is $13 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The 6-ounce steak comes with salad, potatoes, or green beans, plus warm bread and your dessert of choice,

Topeka
The Blind Tiger was the first craft brewery in Topeka, but there's a full menu on offer too. The prime rib special is served all day only on Friday and Saturdays. It's available in two sizes — the $21.50 "big one" and the $25 "bigger one." Both come with one side dish.

Lexington
An 8-ounce sirloin is just $20 with any two from among a baked potato, steak fries, daily vegetable, or salad at this downtown spot known (when there's no pandemic going on) for its live entertainment.

Kenner
Treasure Island Buffet in the Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner is readying a reopening, and there are plenty of diners waiting to get back to its prime rib special, run every Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. The dinner costs $22 a person — making it usually worth stepping off the casino floor for a bite.

Eustis
The prime rib has been served the same way every Thursday and Saturday for more than three decades at Trail's End, where the beef comes fresh and can vary between $20 and $28 for a substantial 16 ounces.

Salisbury
Prime rib dinners (market price) are half price every Tuesday and Wednesday at Brew River in Salisbury. Each meal is served with two sides.

Wilbraham
Tuesday is reserved for $15 prime rib from 4 to 9 p.m. at this neighborhood favorite — casual enough for keno, but with food the owners seek to raise to the level of gastropub.

Detroit
The historic Whitney mansion-turned-restaurant only serves prime rib in one room — the Woodward — and the 12-ounce "Suburban Cut" runs $32. The dinner comes with whipped potatoes, lemon-garlic green beans,  and horseradish cream sauce. The deal is for diners who eat here on their birthday. Then, the prime rib dinner is free — though whoever is joining you will need to order a dinner of equal or greater value.

St. Paul
Saturday is prime rib night at Obb's in St. Paul, where $23 brings you a solid 15 ounces. 

Bay St. Louis
Thursdays are set aside for prime rib — 12 ounces of it served with mashed potatoes, au jus, and horseradish creme frâiche for $20.

Kansas City
Stop in after 5:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays for a market rate smoked prime rib served with mashers or au-gratin potatoes and fresh vegetables.

Three Forks
Pompey's in the Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks hosts prime rib night every Wednesday. A 10-ounce herb-crusted cut of beef is served with a bacon-wrapped potato and a vegetable for $30.

Omaha
The made-from-scratch comfort food at this restaurant includes Friday and Saturday night specials of slow-roasted Angus prime beef with soup or salad. Ten ounces is $30 and 16 ounces is $36.

Las Vegas
It used to be the Paradise Buffet that offered the $16 prime rib for Las Vegas' Fremont Hotel & Casino, though only Sunday, Monday, or Thursday (and you had to be a casino card member, though membership was free). But the pandemic changed that — now it's the casino's Tony Roma's that has a $9 prime rib every day of the week from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Rochester
Every Friday and Saturday night is set aside for prime rib at the Governor's Inn in Rochester. Diners have the choice of a 12-ounce cut for $25 or 16 ounces for $25, served with au jus and horseradish cream sauce.

Dive into a 1-pound cut of prime rib for $28 every Monday from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at this Hoboken haunt. Each meal is served with a potato, vegetable, and salad.

Albuquerque
Three-quarters of a pound of prime rib with salad and a thick slice of Texas toast is $29 after 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at this exceptionally unpretentious eatery.

Manhattan
Prime Rib Sundays — which Ben's calls "a customer favorite" — are $40 per person with two side dishes, soup, and a bottomless fountain soda.

Isa's holds prime rib nights Fridays and Saturdays, offering 12 ounces with potatoes and seasonal vegetables for $36.

Horace
Big Erv's promises it's "small-time" friendly, and the prices should be a hit in the neighborhood. On Saturday the bar and grill offers a prime rib special — queen cut for $20 and king cut for $22.

Twinsburg
The specials at this pub, tavern, and grille start at 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday and offer whipped mashed potatoes, haricot vert, horseradish and au jus with prime rib for $28.

Grove
This tropically themed restaurant has a prime rib special starting at 5 p.m. every Friday that comes with baked potato, vegetable, and a salad — $20 for 10 ounces, or $25 for 14 ounces.

Seaside
The prime rib is $20 every Friday and Saturday with salad or chowder, a choice of potato, and garlic bread.

Ford City
The prime rib specials are $14 or $20 here, even with garden salad, a side of pasta, and choice of potato, as well as a vegetable of the day and a cloverleaf roll with butter. Come Wednesdays starting at 3 p.m., or all day Sunday.

Middletown
Tickets Bar and Grille in Middletown hosts prime rib night every Friday and Saturday for $18. Reserved for the weekends, prime rib does not appear on the regular entree menu.

Charleston
Though better known for its whiskey, Bar Mash also has a prime rib dinner special served with onion rings and a baked potato on Mondays. It will set you back $21 and will likely pair well with the drink specials. 

Sioux Falls
Prime rib is available Thursday through Saturday after 5 p.m. at T.C.'s Referee in Sioux Falls. The 12-ounce Major League is $22 and the 16-ounce Hall of Fame is $27 — but only for the weekend. Thursday is Prime Night, when a 12-ounce cut is "specially priced" at $17 with soup or salad and the choice of a potato or side.

Jackson
The weekend special is a half-pound of prime rib, salad, side, and bread at this informal eatery with an authentic country Italian atmosphere serving since 1982.

A 12-ounce prime rib with a loaded baked potato is $28 — and any bottle of wine is half-price — Thursdays at this joint specializing in "gourmet backyard cuisine."

Payson
Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays at 4 p.m. it's time for Dalton's 16-ounce prime rib special. The dinner comes with au jus, mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables for $27. 

Stowe
The River House Restaurant, part of the historic Stowe Inn, sets aside Fridays for prime rib. The farm-to-table restaurant slow roasts each cut of 10-ounce beef before serving it with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and horseradish. The meal costs $27.

Virginia Beach
The Icehouse has been a staple of the Virginia Beach culinary scene since 1910, and weekends are reserved for prime rib. Every Friday and Saturday night, a 10-ounce cut is available for $18 and a 14-ounce cut for $22.

Vancouver
To take part in Prime Rib Fridays at Ducktales in Vancouver, get there early — because once the restaurant runs out of prime rib, that's it for the evening. The $18 price buys a 10-ounce cut, seasonal vegetables, au gratin potatoes, and soup or salad.

Roanoke
The prime rib carving station is expected to return with a deluxe buffet offered Fridays and Saturdays at Stillwaters, the signature restaurant of the Stonewall Resort in Roanoke — it was already served as part of an Easter buffet, and breakfast buffets are back after loosened coronavirus restrictions. The next step is this all-you-can-eat event of beef served with a selection of regional Appalachian cuisine, which cost $29 per adult from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Every Saturday and Sunday are prime rib nights at Suzy's in Portage. Choose cuts ranging from a petite to a king cut for $20, $18, $24, or $27, respectively. Those feeling ambitious (and flush) can upgrade the order to include jumbo shrimp, crab legs, or lobster tail for an additional charge.
